Artist Biography

Deming King Harriman is a collage and mixed media artist whose work explores fictional narratives, and surreal worlds.

 

She received a BFA in Illustration with a concentration in Book Arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art. Deming has been awarded studio residencies with Oolite Arts (FL), Chashama (NY), and Juxtahub (PA), and has taught at the Wolfsonian Museum (FL), the Young At Art Museum (FL), and the Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami. Her work has been widely commissioned, including over fifty site-specific artworks installed aboard Royal Caribbean cruise ships.

 

Deming’s work is held in several public and private collections, including the Miami-Dade Public Library and the Leder Art Collection. Her Zodiac Series was published in TASCHEN’s Library of Esoterica: Astrology and was also commissioned as a large-scale public installation at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York. She currently works from her studio in Pennsylvania and continues to exhibit her work nationally and internationally.
