 Deming King Harriman is a surrealist collage and mixed media artist whose work explores archetypes, symbolism, and mythological narratives inspired by folklore, esoteric traditions, and the subconscious dream state.

She received her BFA in Illustration with a concentration in Book Arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art. Harriman has exhibited internationally, with solo exhibitions at Deep Space Gallery (NJ) and BBAM! Gallery (Montreal, Canada), as well as group exhibitions at the Young At Art Museum (FL), The Baker Museum (FL), and the Sagamore Hotel (FL), among others.

In addition to her studio practice, Harriman has taught workshops at the Wolfsonian Museum (FL), the Young At Art Museum (FL), and the Museum of Contemporary Art (FL). She has been awarded artist residencies with Oolite Arts in South Florida, Chashama studios in New York funded by the Durst Foundation, and Juxtahub in Pennsylvania.

Harriman has been commissioned to create over fifty artworks installed aboard five of the largest cruise ships in the world through Royal Caribbean International. Her work has been featured in publications including The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Artnet. Her artwork is held in both private and public collections, including the Miami-Dade Public Library System and The Leder Art Collection.

Her acclaimed Zodiac Series was commissioned as a public installation at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York City in 2020, where it remains on view. Harriman is also a published artist featured in TASCHEN’s Library of Esoterica: Astrology and Sacred Sites.
